Texas has a coastline along the Gulf of Mexico that extends for about 367 miles, add to that the inland side of barrier islands as well as all the nooks and crannies of the bays of Texas and it is easy to see why saltwater fishing is huge in Texas.

Texas gulf fishing is an anglers dream.  One can fish the bays for Redfish and Trout, fish the coastline for Flounder, Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, Sand Trout, Croaker, Whiting, Bull Reds and Gafftop, head just off shore and catch Shark and Tarpon.  Head out 15 to 40 miles and catch Kingfish, Snapper, Dorado, Shark and Cobia with Amber Jack, Grouper, Kingfish, Red Snapper, Cobia, Dorado, Sailfish, Tuna and Wahoo as well as Bull, Sand, Hammerhead and Tiger sharks ready to do battle at 30 to 80 miles out.  For the ultimate fight, head out to 70 to 100 miles and find Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Tuna, Wahoo, Dorado and Sailfish.
